Policy
1. Data controller
The controller of personal data collected through showcloser.app is ShowCloser, in compliance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR), Spain's Organic Law 3/2018 (LOPDGDD), Argentina's Law 25.326, Chile's Law 19.628, and Mexico's LFPDPPP.
2. Data we collect
2.1 Account and profile
- Registration data — email, name and role (artist/manager or promoter/venue)
- Profile data — city, country, biography, genres, formats, venue capacity, links (Spotify, Instagram, etc.) and any other data you choose to complete
- Date and time of registration and activity — for the operation of the service
2.2 Identity verification
- Identity document type and number — used solely to verify that you are a real person and validate your identity; visible only to you and never shown to other users
- Photograph of the document, processed on your own device — to read the data printed on the document we use optical character recognition (OCR), an automated process that runs entirely inside your browser. The photograph is never uploaded to our servers: the only thing that leaves your device is the recognised text, which is all that is sent to validate the document
If you have any questions about this automated check or about the result you got, you can write to us at hola@showcloser.app.
You have the right to have a person review the result. The check described above is an automated decision, and whether you can post offers or apply depends on it. That is why, when the system cannot validate your document, the verification screen offers you the option to request a manual review: we will ask you to send us a photograph of the document and a selfie again, and a person from our team will review the case and decide. You can also request it by writing to us at hola@showcloser.app. Every manual approval is recorded with who made it, when, and on what grounds.
2.3 Activity on the platform
- Offers, applications, chat messages and ratings you generate by using the service
- Contracts and their negotiation — the proposals and counter-proposals you send, the agreed terms, the signatures with their date and time, and any later addenda with their change history. This history is part of the document and is visible to the other party to the deal, because without it the contract would not be verifiable
2.4 Technical data
- IP address and browser or device type, processed by our hosting and authentication providers to run the service and prevent abuse
- We use no third-party analytics or advertising tools: no Google Analytics, no social media pixels, no cross-site tracking. We do not record how long you spend on each screen or the path you take through the application. The only exception, measured by ourselves and described in section 2.6, is whether you complete or abandon the sign-up process
2.5 Storage in your browser
ShowCloser does not use cookies. We store in your browser's local storage only what is essential to keep your session and remember your preferences. The full key-by-key detail is in the cookies and local storage policy.
2.6 Sign-up process measurement
To find out at which step people get stuck when trying to create an account, we record milestones of the sign-up process itself: that the sign-up screen was reached, that the account was created, that each step of the initial setup was cleared, and that the page ended up created.
For each of those milestones we store exactly four things and nothing else:
- An anonymous browser identifier, generated at random on your own device, which is deleted when you close the tab and tells us nothing about you
- The name of the milestone (for example, “created the account”)
- The date and time it happened
- Your account, and only from the moment you create it: that is when the anonymous identifier becomes linked to your account, which is what lets us know whether someone was left halfway and offer them help to finish
We do NOT store your IP address, nor which browser or device you use, nor which site you came from. It is not that we do not use them: there is no place to store them. This measurement is our own, lives in our own database, is not shared with anyone, and is not used for advertising or profiling.
If you delete your account, these records stop being associated with you and remain as anonymous figures.
3. Purposes and legal basis
- Providing the service (creating your account, connecting artists and venues, handling applications, chat and contracts): performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR)
- Identity verification and fraud prevention: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR)
- Communications about your activity and service updates: performance of the contract or consent, as applicable
- Sign-up process measurement (section 2.6), to detect where it fails and fix it: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). It is a first-party measurement, limited to our own site, with no persistent identifiers, no IP address and no disclosure to third parties
- Legal compliance (retention of records of closed deals): legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR)
4. Data retention
We keep your data while your account is active. When you request account deletion, we erase or anonymise your personal data (email, identity document, biography, city, links). Records of deals already closed through the platform (names, date and amount exactly as signed) are retained in frozen form to meet legal and tax obligations and to protect the other party to the transaction. You may request deletion at any time.
5. Recipients and international transfers
ShowCloser does not sell, rent or transfer your data to third parties for commercial purposes. Technical service providers act as processors under contract and with adequate safeguards. For providers outside the EEA, we apply standard contractual clauses in accordance with the GDPR.
The processors involved today are:
- Supabase — hosts the database and manages account authentication
- Vercel — hosts and deploys the web application
- Mercado Pago — processes any payments made through the platform. The platform is in beta and there are no active charges yet: we are declaring this now, rather than on the day they are switched on
6. Your rights
You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, objection, portability, withdrawal of consent and restriction of processing. To exercise them, use the form below. We respond within 30 working days at most.
If you believe the processing infringes the law, you may complain to: AEPD (Spain), AAIP (Argentina), Consejo para la Transparencia (Chile) or INAI (Mexico).
7. Minors
ShowCloser does not collect data from anyone under 16 (18 in Argentina). If we detect a minor's data, we delete it immediately.
8. Security
We apply encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), restricted access and periodic security reviews. In the event of a breach affecting your rights, we will notify you within the legally established timeframes.
9. Changes to this policy
We will notify you by email if changes are material. The current version is always available at showcloser.app/en/privacy.html.
10. Contact
For any privacy question or to exercise your rights (access, rectification, erasure / right to be forgotten, objection or data portability), write to hola@showcloser.app. Your request will be handled within 30 working days at most.
